PLEASE NOTE: If the course is presented solely as a lead awareness course, it does not comply with EPA’s training requirements for lead abatement training for target housing or child-occupied facilities. In order to work on residential lead abatement projects, trainees must undergo training by an approved lead abatement training provider certified by the EPA or proper state authority. This training fulfills the EPA’s requirements to become a Certified Lead Renovator. Certification is required for Laborers who are engaging in renovation, repair and painting activities that disturb lead-based paint in pre-1978 houses and child-occupied facilities. Students participate in active learning through classroom exercises and hands-on training. This certificate is valid for five years. Students must take their refresher training prior to the expiration of their current or refresher certificate.
